Vampire Links
Here dwell the links in their boundless perversions. Please kindly take one and leave the rest for the others, thank you.
I've gathered these through many cosy nights surfing the web after the day's end. Unlike my main link page for the rest of the lair, this does make an attempt to be comprehensive. Note that there are several attributes that can cause exclusion, which I shall cover now:
- It is a Wikipedia page, or is heavily reliant on Wikipedia. Over twenty years, the website has seen a downward trajectory into bias and frivolity, far from the neutral party it promised to be at its conception. As this happens, it is cheered by an illuminated manuscript of deranged shut-ins* while Google lines its pockets behind their backs* and local libraries languish from disuse. How it maintains such dominance over the flow of information is genuinely impressive. In response, I link to free research papers and primary sources directly on this page.
- It is located on a mainstream website. This also excludes articles from mainstream publications, which tend to source from academic papers anyways and create an ouroboros of redudundancy.
With all this out of the way, I won't quote Dracula a second time. Have fun!
Footnotes
* Your mileage may vary depending on how much you’ve seen, but if you feel similarly and have a masochistic streak, do read their attempts at humour on the “Unusual Wikipedia pages” article.
* Billions’ worth, no less. The same applies to Mozilla. If the discrepancy between “we hate The Man” and quietly eating from his hand irritates you as much as it does me, try Waterfox or LibreWolf instead.

Fangs for the Memories:
- Beepbird
- Created the layout used on this page, appropriately named Hyde. I wondered why it was called that until now. Two flex boxes, two faces..Ohhhhh...
- BeautifulSoup
- Saved me countless hours of pain and suffering.
- ByLightUnseen
- Provided several excerpts from books. The claim to having personal copyright over transcriptions of public domain works may be strange to you, but this was typical for the time. This also a good bit before OCR software became the standard for plaintext conversion, so these were typed by finger! Ouch! However, here in hobbyist data-archival, redundancy is the point.
- Dark Side of the Net
- Provided plenty of links for the Links page via its Wayback Machine equivalents. The whiplash between its current and past incarnations is truly a sight to behold. One talks about being a "content creator" and links to AI-generated storybooks for small children, the other one has an entire section for gore websites. Reminds me of how Yahoo used to have a designated racist section. How times have changed.
- Hewett Tsoi
- Created the Alagard font that's used for the headers. I also credit Lutz for giving it (and the Birch Branch) font to me.
- Library of Congress
- Provided a substantial amount of vampire newspaper clippings, if not all of them.
- Project Gutenberg
- Got the ball rolling with the Vampire Books collection.
- Queer Horror
- Gave me a solid chunk of LGB (Not much T around that time) vampire novels for the bibliography.
- Solirides
- Created the Birch Leaf font that's used for the nav links.
- Taverndweller
- Created the bibliographic style of the same name.
- W3schools
- All manner of code snippets.
- Weird Fangs
- Gave me the names of many Weird Tales stories.
- zatoichi01
- Scanned many of the Weird Tales issues that I'd go on to pull text from.
- Zeno Rocha
- Created the Dracula/Alucard colour scheme used on this site.
