How to find your way round the Lair, and what the odd marks on its pages mean.
Getting around
The sidebar (the Menu button on a phone) is split the way a wiki's is:
- Main Pages has the Main Page, Contact, this Help page (with the full Contents at the bottom), a random page and the Recent Changes log.
- Projects are the collections and guides themselves.
The tabs along the top work on whatever page you're reading: Print it, Download as .txt, see What links here, or copy a Permanent link. The search box looks through the whole site.
Reading the pages
- Sidenotes
- A small boxed number in the text has a matching note: beside the page on a wide screen, underneath on a narrow one. Point at either and the other lights up.
- Dates on dotted lines
- In the Bookmarks, a year at the end of a dotted line means the site is gone and the link goes to its archived copy from that year. In the Magazine Rack, the date is when the piece was published.
- Index numbers
- The Bookmarks index points to sections by number; an M in front means a section of the Magazine Rack.
- § numbers
- Some long pages number their sections (§1, 1.2…) so they're easy to cite.
- ↗ after a link
- The link leaves the Lair.
